In what ways Yapalong 3000 is better than the FRS "walkie-talkie"?

Can I use other battery types besides alkaline and NiMH?

No, the Yapalong is not designed for other battery technologies.

I have a 56-foot boat, can I have clear communication everywhere on and below deck?

Assuming your boat is fibreglass and not steel, you should have no problem at all.

Why does Yapalong not have a longer communication range?

Radiated power from the antenna comes from the battery as well. Yapalong is designed with a right balance of radiated power and battery life, or use time between charges. The achieved range is good for applications of a small group (up to 4) working or enjoying outdoor activities together.

What factors would have an impact on the distance of communication?

Buildings, walls, metal and conductive material, and human body which is mainly water, all have an effect on RF transmission in the gigahertz frequency. To maximize distance, face the Yapalong unit to the direction of the other party. Wearing the unit on the arm with the Arm Band reduces the effect of the body blockage significantly.

Can I use any headset with a 2.5mm plug with Yapalong 3000?

No. The size of the moulded part of the plug would not fit the unit. The battery door will not close properly. The seal ring around the insertion hole could be damaged. Warranty will be void if used with other headsets.
